Know Your Path

   My mom has been there for me no matter what. I hope that one day, I can be as strong as her. She has struggled trying to raise my brothers and I since she was a single mother. I am glad that I have a mother like her, because at times may not like her decisions, but I know she try's to do her best. If it weren't for my mom my life would be messed up because she encourages me to do what's best. I hope that I don't make the same mistakes as my mom did and that I make better choices. My mom has taught me right even though the people I grew up with are slipping and going down the wrong path, I am still looking forward and trying to do whats right. Yes I may slip up and make mistakes, but I'm a human we all do. Even if I slip up I always find away back, and though I didn't always get the things I wanted my mom taught me to be thankful for what I did have. For this I am lucky to have a mom who cares so much and who truly loves me.

   In the poem " Our Son Swears He Has 102 Gallons of Water in His Body,"  the son seems to think he knows everything and that everyone else knows he is right. Then in the end the dad stats, "Instead of carrying giant waterfalls inside, we’re streams, sweet pools, something to dip into with an old metal cup, like the one we took camping, that nobody could break." Which shows that the son shouldn't feel like he knows everything and that sometimes he should just flow with the rest of the crowd. I feel that many people who think they know everything should sometimes do less talking and more listening so they can realize how much they really didn't know.

 

Staying Connected

  I feel lucky to be able to stay connected with friends and family. Technology is an easier and quicker way to stay connected. My phone allows me to talk to my friend all the time and we keep each other informed about our lives. The internet allows people to stay in contact and allows you to meet new people. For some people technology ruins their social life, they don't seem to find have time to actually talk to people. For me I only use my phone to text my best friend or make phone calls, and I only use my I Pod to play games and music when I'm bored. My electronics has change me because I spend less time with family and more time on my electronics. I think texting has influenced me the most because I text all the time and I stay up half the night texting or talking to friends. My I Pod gives me something to fill in my spare time. I have seen many of my friends change because one moment they could be so happy until they read something that upsets them, then it can ruin the rest of their day.  I see many students which make their electronics their whole life and they act as if they would die without their electronics. I don't feel like I'm addicted because I can actually go without my electronics. Bradbury was trying to say that people are allowing technology to take over, but you should still take time to get a breath of air. Don't allow technology to suck the life out of you and yes he is right.       

No Merit Pay

    I feel that that the teachers shouldn't get merit pay. Merit pay is basically the teacher getting paid on how well the students try. That would not be fair to the teachers who have students who don't try or even care. According to the article "The Cutting Edge" merit pay could be given to people who are more favored by the students, which will allow the student to try to do better to help the teachers pay. Some teachers also get students who really don't want to be at school, so they really don't attempt to do anything. In school a lot of students including honor students don't seem to try on test or have stress problems.Test are not really taken serious so not many teachers would get paid a lot.

  A good topic to write a blog about would be the dress code and how the students feel about it. Also on the punishment for  breaking the rules of the dress code.

Support Global Poverty and the People Here

   I feel that the money we raise can be split and support both causes. We should be able to use the money to help support people here, but we don't have to use all the money. Unlike other places we actually have resources here that can help with our problems, and by donated some of the money it allows things to get a little better. The other places may not have much, but that little bit of money we send to them can help feed people who are starving it could allow someone to live longer. I feel that since I was raised in a big family I feel we should share the money, so both places are able to get something that will at least help. It's not the greatest idea, but it's fair for the global poverty and the poverty here. 

What is Love?

    I believe love is when you are willing to sacrifice things that are important to you just for that special someone. When you are in love with someone you are willing to give anything just to be with them. When that person is the only thing you think about and always puts a smile on your face. No matter what kind of day you are having that person always seems to cheer you up. In this day and time people use the term so lightly, especially when they hardly know that person. I feel that in a marriage or a relationship that the two people must have something in common or a sort of connection between the two. Love is recognized by the way a person looks or by what they do for them.

   My mom has been a big influence on my life when it comes to love. Throughout my life I have watched my mom search for love. I have seen many people come and go, only the ones who truly loved her stayed. I feel that my mom has suffered through a lot and I try to avoid love, but it just seems to come from anywhere. I know that because of what I saw my mom go through, I push people away and make people mad at me. I try to be friends, but once I get into a friendship so deep and intense I began to push myself away. I started to stop caring about love except for my family and really good friends. Therefore I feel love is a strong bond between two people.   

Not So Dumb After All

  Our generation now is not the dumbest generation, it just depends on how you grew up in your house. I feel that the generation coming up after us will be even dumber since they do not have a lot of book knowledge, but they will be really good with technology. Its more often that I see children who can barely talk with phones, I Pods, and I Pads. I feel dumb when they know how to use technology better than me, but I realize I have more knowledge in my head. My mom taught me that I shouldn't always depend on technology because one day I may not be able to get what I need, so she taught me to try to think on my feet. This is why I do not feel we are the dumbest generation.

Supension not Necessary

    I personally believe he was able to voice his own opinion about how he felt, so he shouldn't have been suspended. Many people voice their opinions, yes sometimes people should not open their mouths but they still have the right to their own opinion. I feel everyone deserves Freedom of Speech because everyone one has the right to state how they feel. Many people have fought for us to have the right to speak our minds. I feel that just because he voiced his opinion on Castro does not mean people have to make a big deal about it. Its not really important just people are taking away his money and work time just to cause a scene. This is why I believe he should not have been suspended.
